Pepperoni Pizza Sliders on Hawaiian Rolls
If you enjoy pizza, you’ll absolutely adore these pepperoni pizza sliders. They’re quick and easy, and the whole family will love them.
It all started with jazzed-up Hawaiian rolls, courtesy of a buttery, herby sauce.
Then, you’ll add pizza sauce, two different kinds of cheese, and pepperoni for an awesome pizza flavor.
Besides being totally tasty, these cheesy sliders are also hugely convenient. You can have a dozen of them ready in less than an hour.
Plus, the ingredients you’ll need are minimal.
Quick, easy, and full of garlicky pizza yumminess? Yeah. These little guys are a definite winner in my book.
Ingredients
The great thing about this recipe is that you don’t need anything special to make it.
Just a few pantry staples, and they’re in the oven before you know it.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Hawaiian Sweet Rolls: Hawaiian rolls are my top choice, but feel free to use potato rolls or these dinner rolls. Whatever you like best.
- Pizza Sauce: This copycat recipe for Little Caesars pizza sauce is to die for. And this marinara sauce also works well. But to save time, go ahead and use store-bought.
- Mozzarella: Is a pizza even a pizza without mozzarella cheese?! I don’t think so. For the best taste and texture, get a block and grate it yourself.
- Pepperoni Slices: You’ll find bags of pepperoni slices in most grocery stores.
- Seasoned Butter: Mix melted butter with a blend of garlic powder, oregano, and basil. Brush it over the tops of the rolls to make them impossibly rich.
- Parmesan: For that final kick of salty, cheesy goodness.
How to Make Pizza Sliders
If you’ve ever made Hawaiian roll sliders before, you’ll know it’s pretty easy. Just slice, layer, and bake.
Follow these steps to make ooey-gooey pizza sliders:
1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and grease (or add parchment paper to) a large baking dish.
2. Assemble the sliders. Cut the Hawaiian rolls in half and place them bottom in the baking dish. Layer over the pizza sauce, mozzarella, and pepperoni slices. Place the tops of the rolls on last.
3. Brush and bake. Mix melted butter with garlic powder, oregano, and basil and brush it over the assembled sliders. Sprinkle on the Parmesan cheese, cover the dish with foil, and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 5 minutes.
4. Slice and serve. Let the sliders cool slightly. Then, cut them along their natural separations, and enjoy!

Tips for the Best Pizza Sliders
With a meaty slider recipe this easy, you may not even need tips! But I have a few for you anyway:
- Customize them! Add your favorite pizza toppings, such as black olives, green peppers, mushrooms, jalapenos, etc. Or get creative with leftover chicken, ham, or even steak.
- Don’t divide the rolls. Cut the slab in half horizontally to create tops and bottoms. But DO NOT pull the rolls apart. Save that for the end!
- Cut the rolls precisely. Ensure the bottoms are thick enough to hold all that yummy filling. If they’re too thin, they’ll go soggy.
- For a crispier bottom. Bake the bottom half of the rolls with pizza sauce for about 5 minutes. Then, add the rest of the toppings.
- Make it vegetarian. Replace meat toppings with roasted vegetables, tofu, or vegan cheese.
- Make them extra flavorful. Add a drizzle of hot sauce or ranch dressing.
How to Store Leftovers
If you like, you can make a batch of pizza sliders 1-2 days ahead. Just assemble them as directed (without the melted butter), then cover and refrigerate.
Bake as instructed when you’re ready.
As for leftovers, you have a couple of options:
To Store: Place cold leftover pizza sliders in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. The sliders may get soggy the longer they sit, but they’ll still taste great.
To Freeze: Wrap cold leftovers in two layers of plastic and one layer of foil. Freeze for 1-2 months.
To Reheat: Thaw frozen sliders in the fridge overnight. Reheat leftovers for about 5 minutes at 350°F in the air fryer, or wrapped in foil in the oven for about 10 minutes at 350°F.
