17 Cheese Snacks We Can’t Resist

There are few things in this world more delicious than well-made cheese snacks.

Cheese is one of those almost universally loved foods, and you can do so much with it.

From dips to breadsticks to mini-pizzas and more, cheese is incredibly versatile, and most people would agree that you can never have too much of it.

It tastes great with bread, fruit, meat, veggies, and practically everything else, so it’s easy to find plenty of phenomenal cheese snack recipes.

The hard part is narrowing them down and selecting the best ones. That’s what I’ve tried to do with this list. I hope you’ll enjoy it!

1. Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks

With garlic, cheddar, and parmesan cheese, these homemade breadsticks are the real deal.

No frozen or “just warm them up” bread from the bakery can compare.

They’re doughy, slightly crispy, and supremely cheesy, and you can easily make a dozen with everyday ingredients in less than an hour.

Pigs in a blanket

2. Pigs in a Blanket with Cheese

These full-size pigs in a blanket are so large that they probably should be called hogs in a blanket instead.

Each one includes a crescent roll stuffed with a hot dog, which is also stuffed with a slice of American cheese. They’re flaky, buttery, cheesy, and perfect.

3. Pepperoni Pizza Pinwheels

These may be pepperoni pizza pinwheels, but the real star of the show is the ooey-gooey cheese.

They taste best when served with extra marinara or a garlic butter dipping sauce.

4. Mac & Cheese Balls

Is there anything better than creamy macaroni and cheese peppered with fresh chives?

Actually, there is – deep-fried macaroni and cheese peppered with fresh chives.

The outsides are crispy and well-seasoned, and the insides are warm, rich, and incredible.

5. Baked Cheese Crisps

If you’re on a low-carb or ketogenic diet, chips and crackers aren’t really an option, but cheese crisps are another story entirely.

They’re just as crunchy and tasty as chips, but they have far fewer carbs.

Whether you enjoy plain crisps, jalapeno popper crisps, or some other type, you can make them easily with these recipes.

Spicy Queso Dip with Tortilla Chips

6. Hormel Chili Dip

All you’ll need for this three-ingredient cheese dip is cream cheese, bean-free Hormel chili, and shredded cheddar cheese.

It’s savory, cheesy, and you can make it in less than 10 minutes in the microwave.

7. Mozzarella Sticks

Because these must be frozen to help them set, they take a bit of time to make, but you’ll need fewer than 10 ingredients to prepare them.

The crispy, deep-fried crusts are salty, peppery, and herby; the insides are stringy, gooey, and yummy.

Serve them with marinara sauce or, if you’re odd like me, cocktail sauce for dipping.

Cheese Dip

8. Velveeta Sausage Dip

You can have this three-ingredient dip ready to serve in 20 minutes, less if you’ve precooked your sausage.

All you’ll need is sausage, a can of ROTEL, and Velveeta.

It’s a cheesy, chunky dip that’s so good; people won’t be able to stop eating it, with or without chips for dipping.

9. Cheese and Crackers

Cheese and crackers are a simple classic, but that doesn’t mean they have to be boring.

Use some of the optional toppings suggested in the recipe, and experiment with different varieties of cheese and flavored crackers.

Trust me; they’ll be a hit at any party or movie night.

Seven-Layer Taco Dip

10. Taco Dip

The two cups of cheddar cheese are only one layer of this delectable, seven-layer dip. If you like Mexican food – salsa, sour cream, refried beans, etc. – you’ll love this tasty taco dip.

Sausage Balls

11. Sausage Balls

Sausage balls are always an excellent snack, but cheesy sausage balls are even better, especially when you can make two dozen of them in less than 30 minutes.

Plus, they only require five ingredients – shredded cheddar cheese, sausage, Bisquick, chives, and milk.

12. Cheesy Baked Tomatoes

You’ve probably heard of baked potatoes, but baked tomatoes are a little less common.

However, I’d also argue that they’re a little more delicious.

Overflowing with parmesan and mozzarella cheeses and flavored with olive oil and fresh basil, these full-flavored delicacies are an herby, Italian-esque delight.

Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings

13. Garlic Parmesan Wings

If you’re making wings, you might as well make the best wings, and many people would agree that those come from Wingstop.

That’s why this copycat recipe for Wingstop’s garlic parmesan wings is so phenomenal.

They’re juicy, garlic-y, and just a little bit spicy, and the parmesan adds a delightful tanginess that’s hard not to love.

14. Parmesan Buttered Popcorn

You can put parmesan on practically anything, including popcorn! It’s light, airy, buttery, and perfect.

If you’re a cheese on popcorn kind of person, you’ll love this quick and easy snack.

Grilled Cheese Sandwich

15. Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Whether you’re 4, 14, or 44, you’ll never outgrow the love of a buttery, gooey grilled cheese sandwich.

Everyone has their own recipe for the perfect grilled cheese, but for me, it’s all about simplicity.

All it takes to make an incredibly scrumptious grilled cheese sandwich is butter, white bread, and real cheddar cheese.

Pro Tip: It tastes even better if you cook it in a cast-iron skillet.

16. Jalapeno Poppers

I love jalapeno poppers, but only if they’re homemade. You can’t find good frozen jalapeno poppers. It just doesn’t happen.

Luckily, you can make a dozen homemade ones in 45 minutes.

With this seven-ingredient recipe, you can cook the hottest, cheesiest, most garlicky jalapeno poppers imaginable, and the breadcrumbs add a bit of crunchiness that makes them even better.

Cheesy Dip with Tomatoes and Tortilla Chips

17. Queso

I couldn’t finish up this list of cheese snacks without adding the ultimate cheese snack – queso!

This particular queso uses a copycat recipe for Qdoba’s queso, and it’s fantastic.

It’s velvety smooth, creamy, thick, and has a lovely peachy/off-white color that just looks appetizing.

It’s garlic-y and spicy, but it isn’t so hot you can’t enjoy it without a gallon of milk nearby.

You can also experiment with the toppings to add an extra bit of texture and flavor if you like.

The image shows a topping of diced tomatoes and parsley, but you can also use chives, onions, or a pico de gallo mixture if you prefer.
