There are lots of dips out there, and they’re always rich and delectable. So what makes this one a cut above the rest?

Homemade Spinach Dip in a Bowl

Here’s what: despite how sinfully delish it is, it doesn’t contain cheese – at all!

It’s perfect if you’re craving something savory and creamy but also want to cut back on fat.

The combination of sour cream and mayonnaise gives you an irresistible dressing that’s also not as high in calories.

It’s also packed with water chestnuts – another healthy component – that give it a wonderful crunch.

Knorr Spinach Dip

This spinach dip is a refreshing appetizer especially ideal for summer parties and picnics.

Serve it with chips, crackers, and vegetable sticks, and your party will be a guaranteed hit.

Spinach, water chestnuts, sour cream, and mayo: together, they create this scrumptious dip.

But the secret ingredient that truly makes it a winner is the packet of Knorr vegetable mix.

This humble soup seasoning is what transforms a basic spinach dip from so-so to spectacular.

Here’s a bonus: the recipe doesn’t require cooking or baking. Just stir the ingredients in a bowl and you’re done!

Spinach Dip with a Cracker in a Bowl

  • Spinach – It’s called spinach dip, after all! To me, this is the best way to get kids to like spinach. It’s bland on its own, but when mixed with a little bit of sour cream and mayo, a 360-degree transformation takes place.
  • Sour Cream and Mayonnaise – I like to use a blend of these two creamy dressings for a healthier dip. If you want an even more wholesome alternative, opt for Greek yogurt.
  • Knorr Vegetable Recipe Mix – It’s the secret seasoning that makes this dip wildly flavorful.
  • Water Chestnuts – For a little bit of crunch.
  • Green Onions – For a pop of color and a nice, earthy, and peppery flavor.

Tips for Making the Best Spinach Dip

  • The key to the perfect dip consistency is to drain the spinach well. Be sure to squeeze out as much liquid as you can after cooking the leaves. For best results, use your hands!
  • Frozen spinach is great for this recipe. But if you don’t like its stringy texture, go for fresh.
  • This dip is already incredibly addictive as it is, and it doesn’t even contain cheese. Can you just imagine how much more phenomenal it would be if you added mozzarella, parmesan, and cream cheese to the mix? Try it and let me know what you think!
  • Spinach and artichoke are a perfect combination. Go ahead and add some sliced artichoke hearts in there for more flavor and nutrition.
  • Everything tastes better with bacon, so why not throw in some crumbled bacon bits to the mix?
  • If you want to make your dip a little bit fancier, that’s nothing some sun-dried tomatoes can’t do.
  • For a healthier option, swap out sour cream for Greek yogurt.
  • For a meatier flavor and texture, drop half a cup of cooked mushrooms in there.
  • Love seafood? This dip tastes amazing with baby shrimp!
  • Serve the dip in a brioche bread bowl for a prettier presentation. Put a handful of crackers and veggie sticks on the side to complete the look.

It’s another reason why this dip is a perfect party appetizer! Hosting a party is no simple feat.

Preparing this dip in advance gives you more time to cook other dishes and entertain guests on the day of your get-together.

Simply cover the bowl with plastic wrap and pop it in the fridge. Spinach dip will keep well for up to 4 days in the refrigerator.

Not only will it make party-hosting so much easier, but it’ll also improve the flavors of the dip. Making it advance will give the flavors time to marry!

Can I freeze my Spinach Dip?

Simply place the dip in a freezer-safe bowl and wrap it in plastic wrap and aluminum foil. Frozen spinach dip will keep well for up to 3 months.

Let it thaw in the fridge overnight and serve!
