The next time you need a quick and easy snack or appetizer, make a batch of frozen egg rolls in the air fryer.
I serve these with everything from fried rice and pad thai to curry and stir-fries. My family loves the added crunch they bring to a dinner.
Better yet, they’re crunchier and crispier than oven-baked egg rolls. And they’re way less greasy than deep-fried ones. What more could you ask for?
How to Make Frozen Egg Rolls in the Air Fryer
As with most air fryer recipes, the steps here are short and sweet.
Here’s what to do:
1. PREHEAT the air fryer to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. If your model doesn’t increase in fives, heat it to 380°F instead.
2. AIR-FRY in a single layer in the basket for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
3. SERVE! Let the egg rolls cool for 2 or 3 minutes. Then, serve and enjoy!
How Long to Cook Frozen Egg Rolls in the Air Fryer
Typically, it takes about 10 minutes to cook frozen egg rolls in an air fryer.
However, not all air fryers work the same. And not all egg rolls are the same size.
Larger egg rolls might need closer to 12-14 minutes, whereas smaller ones might be ready after just 8.
Also, depending on the size of the basket and the brand of your air fryer, they may need more or less time.
I recommend cooking in batches and checking them at the 5-minute mark when flipping:
- If they’re still quite pale, chances are they need 5 more minutes (or more).
- If they’re already pretty brown, cook for 2 minutes, then check again.
Either way, be sure to monitor them closely and take them out when they’re golden brown and crispy.
Tips for Success
With a recipe this simple, you almost don’t need tips. But I have a few for you anyway:
- Remember to preheat. The egg rolls (and most other foods) will cook more evenly if you preheat the fryer.
- Find a high-quality brand of egg rolls. Cheaper brands are more likely to burn because the wrapping is thin. Other brands don’t crisp up as well, no matter how you cook them. So find one you like and stick with it!
- Don’t thaw the egg rolls. They don’t need it – the filling is already cooked.
- Use olive oil spray for the best crust. Cooking spray is bad for air fryers. But olive oil spray is fine. So, for the nicest finish, add a light mist of oil over the egg rolls.
- Can’t set the air fryer at 375? Set it at 380 degrees instead and monitor the cooking process. They may be ready in about 8 minutes instead of 10.
Dipping Sauce Ideas
Egg rolls taste so much better when paired with your favorite dipping sauces. Try any of these:
- Hot mustard sauce
- Sweet and sour dipping sauce
- Soy glaze
- Sriracha mayo
- Chili sauce
- Thai peanut sauce
- Stir-fry sauce
What to Serve with Air Fryer Frozen Egg Rolls
Besides sauces, you can also pair these egg rolls with your favorite rice and noodle dishes.

How to Store & Reheat
Unfortunately, freezing previously frozen egg rolls isn’t a good idea. That doesn’t mean you have to trash your leftovers, though!
To Store: Place the cooled egg rolls in an airtight container. Then, refrigerate for 1 to 2 days.
To Reheat: Cook leftovers at 360 degrees Fahrenheit for 2-3 minutes or until they’re warm.
Note: The egg rolls may not be as crispy after warming them up. They’re still delicious and safe to eat, though.
