BLT sandwiches are an all-time favorite of many. There’s nothing quite like the combination of perfectly toasted bread, fresh and crunchy lettuce, some juicy slices of tomato, and my favorite part of the sandwich, bacon!

Whether you’re having a BLT for lunch, dinner, or even as an on-the-go breakfast or brunch, this meal is sure to satisfy.

But no sandwich is complete without a little something on the side!

Transform your BLT sandwich into an unforgettable meal with these 12 savory side dishes. From macaroni salad to crispy potato chips, these sides are sure to delight.

Bowl of Fruits

1. Fruit Bowl

A bowl of fresh fruit is an excellent way to add some healthy sweetness to your meal. Try a combo of citrus fruits like oranges and grapefruit with a little pomegranate.

It’s super refreshing and balances out the savoriness of the sandwich. You can also go with pears, bananas, and grapes with just a little bit of cream on top. Even a few apple slices work well too!

Amish Macaroni Salad

2. Macaroni Salad

Another customizable side dish you can try is macaroni salad. This is a great side dish if you’re extra hungry because it can be quite filling!

To pair with a BLT sandwich, I’d go with a classic recipe with carrots, bell pepper, and celery.

If you want yours to be a little sweet, stick with regular mayonnaise. For a more savory salad, go with whole egg mayonnaise or Japanese mayonnaise.

Clam Dip With Potato Chips

3. Potato Chips

You simply can’t go wrong with any potato side dish, especially with that yummy BLT sandwich. Potato chips are a great way to add some crispy saltiness to your meal.

You can even flavor it with some barbeque or cheese powder. Just make sure to be extra generous with this side dish, I usually find myself still munching on the chips even after I’m done with the sandwich!

Spinach Salad With Avocado and Mandarin Oranges

4. Salad with Mandarin Oranges

Here’s a healthy treat to serve with your BLT. A mandarin orange salad will add the perfect splash of freshness to your meal.

This summer salad is simply delightful. Whenever oranges are in season, definitely go ahead and grab the chance to make this delicious salad.

You already have some lettuce in your sandwich so try using another green like spinach and some arugula. From there, add in your mandarin oranges, some sliced walnuts, and cranberries. So good and refreshing!

Tomato Soup

5. Tomato Soup

For a hearty, cozy meal, pair your sandwich with some tomato soup! You can get some canned tomato soup from your local store or you can make your very own.

Even when I’m using store-bought tomato soup, I always try to add a little something extra like cilantro or a little squeeze of lemon. A creamier, smoother tomato soup is great to pair with a sandwich.

Insider tip: Dipping is highly encouraged!

coleslaw

6. Coleslaw

Here’s another all-time favorite side dish. Coleslaw can add a fresh, crunchy twist to your sandwich.

Some like theirs creamy with extra mayo or a bit more tangy by adding a white vinegar but I always make mine with some buttermilk! It’s the classic southern coleslaw and I love the balance of creamy and tangy flavors.

Pair it with your BLT sandwich and you’ve got a perfect combination.

Sweet Potato Fries

7. Sweet Potato Fries

French fries are delicious, but they’re not the healthiest option. If you’re craving some of that crispy, starchy goodness, try sweet potato fries instead! They’re just as good, minus the guilt!

When it comes to sweet potatoes, baking is the way to go and if you get the seasoning just right, you won’t even be thinking about regular potatoes anymore. Plus, they’re an excellent source of fiber. A delectable side dish!

Devilled Eggs

8. Deviled Eggs

Deviled eggs might require a bit of work than most of these other sides, but they’re definitely worth the effort.

This is perfect for when you’re having guests over because this side dish looks super cute and Instagram-worthy!

Eggs are also a great addition to almost any sandwich so they’ll definitely complement your BLT sandwich perfectly. Plus, your salty, creamy, tangy filling is going to add even more flavor.

Potato Salad

9. Potato Salad

Here’s another creamy side dish to serve with your BLT sandwich. Potato salads are quick and easy to make in just 30 minutes.

In a salad, baby potatoes are a great option because you don’t even have to cut them up or peel them! I think the skin adds a wonderful texture to the salad.

Just like with macaroni, go with regular mayonnaise if you want it sweet and whole egg or Japanese mayonnaise if you want it extra creamy.

Pickled Vegetables

10. Pickled Vegetables

For the perfect bite of flavor to cut through your sandwich, try pickled vegetables like carrots, peppers, or cucumber.

There’s nothing quite as satisfying as biting into a rich and savory sandwich and following it up with something perfectly salty and sour.

This wonderful side dish is easy to make at home too! Cut up your veggies into strips, place them in a jar with vinegar, salt, sugar, and water, and leave in the fridge for a few days.

Corn on the Cob

11. Grilled Corn on the Cob

This one’s a real treat! Grilled corn on the cob is another delicious side dish that’s great for when you have guests over.

Not only do those golden cobs of corn look beautiful, they taste amazing too, especially with a BLT sandwich. You can simply brush it over with some butter or make it a Mexican grilled corn by dressing it up with some sour cream, cilantro, chilli powder, and lime. Absolutely delicious!

Cheese Curds

12. Cheese Curds

Last but definitely not the least, who can say no to some cheesiness right? I absolutely love the taste of cheese curds, especially with a simple sandwich like BLT.

They have a unique texture and coating them in a crispy batter just makes these little bites of cheese taste even better. A big bite of your sandwich plus a big bit of your cheese curds… heaven!
