Christmas Rum Cocktails & Drink Recipes

From gingerbread drinks to vibrant punch, these Christmas rum cocktails are guaranteed to knock your socks off.

And if you’re a big fan of eggnog, don’t worry! I’ve got a recipe here I know you’ll go gaga for.

So plate up the cookies, light the fire, and get ready for a tasty rum drink.

1. Gingerbread Cocktail

Let’s kick things off with one of the most popular Christmas treats of all time.

Gingerbread is sweet, spiced, and impossible to resist. Add some rum, and it’s downright addictive!

This baby is rich, creamy, and loaded with real gingerbread cookies! It’s like a rum-infused milkshake, and I know you’ll dig it.

Ingredients: gingerbread cookies, vanilla ice cream, eggnog, spiced rum, whipped cream, gingerbread cookies & cinnamon sticks (for garnish)

2. Christmas Punch

This Christmas punch is a must-have if you’re throwing a party this holiday season.

I mean, just look at those bright festive colors!

It looks a little too tempting with all that red cranberry juice and fresh orange slices.

It’s super bubbly, colorful, and everything the holidays should be.

Ingredients: ice, cranberry juice, sparkling wine or Prosecco, apple cider, ginger ale, dark rum, orange slices & fresh cranberries (for garnish)

3. Classic Hot Buttered Rum

Hot buttered rum is a Christmas classic that dates back to the 1650s. And it’s stuck around for a good reason- it’s delicious.

Looking at the ingredient list, you might think it’s a cookie recipe.

Full of brown sugar, butter honey, nutmeg, ground cloves, and cinnamon, it tastes a lot like one too!

Ingredients: brown sugar, butter, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, salt, vanilla extract, hot water, dark rum, whipped cream & cinnamon sticks (for garnish)

4. Naughty Elf Cocktail

Are you more of a fruity cocktail fan? Then this naughty elf creation will be right up your alley.

While it contains the warm, spicy notes of rum, there is plenty of fruity bubbles to balance it out.

And between the cranberry and grapefruit juice, it’s pretty tart, with just a hint of mischief.

Ingredients: cranberry juice, red grapefruit juice, citrus soda, pomegranate liquor, Cointreau, spiced rum, ice, candy cane (for garnish)

5. Holiday Eggnog Cocktail

Eggnog – you either love it or you hate it.

I think it’s great in moderation. And I love baking with it! But why not spare yourself the nightmare of making it and opt for storebought?

Then, jazz it up with a cinnamon stick, some sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and, of course, dark rum!

Ingredients: brandy, dark rum, eggnog, nutmeg, cinnamon, sugar, cinnamon stick (for garnish)

6. Cranberry and Ginger Mojito

Who says mojitos are just for the summer? That bright and refreshing taste is just as yummy when it’s cold outside!

Especially when you make it with cranberry and ginger!

It pairs bubbly club soda with lime juice, ginger, frozen cranberries, and fresh mint. The colors scream Christmas, and the taste is as festive as can be.

Ingredients: cranberry and ginger simple syrup, white rum, lime juice, club soda, frozen cranberries, lime wedge & mint leaves (for garnish)

7. Santa’s Hat Coconut Rum Cocktail

How fun are these coconut and rum martinis?

The bright red liquid and the white rim on the glass are super effective. And luckily, it tastes nothing like Santa’s old hat.

It’s a tart and fruity cocktail with a hint of holiday flair from Malibu coconut rum.

Ingredients: cream of coconut, flaked coconut, cranberry juice, coconut rum, sweet and sour mix, Grenadine, lemon juice

8. Christmas Rum Cocktail

You’re a mean one, Mr. Grinch! But I have a feeling you’ll love, love, love, and double love this bright green Christmas cocktail.

Featuring green Hawaiian punch paired with tropical coconut rum, it’s simple, but it tastes so good!

The only time you’ll hear anyone complaining is when their glass is empty!

Ingredients: green Hawaiian punch, coconut rum, Christmas sprinkles & corn syrup (for the rim)

9. White Christmas Mojito

I hope your Instagram is ready because this drink is so pretty, you’ll want to post a million pictures!

This white Christmas cocktail pairs white rum with unsweetened coconut milk, lime, and a hint of sparkling water.

It’s impossibly refreshing, deliciously bubbly, and mildly sweet. And how amazing do those vibrant pomegranate arils look in the glass?

Ingredients: lime juice, mint leaves, sugar, white rum, coconut rum, unsweetened coconut milk, sparkling water, pomegranate arils (for garnish)

10. Cranberry Dark and Stormy

Not all Christmases are white. Sometimes, they’re a little Dark and Stormy.

This is one of my all-time favorite cocktails. I just love the taste of dark rum with ginger beer.

And when you add a little cranberry to the mix? Man, what a festive delight!

Feel free to lighten this up with ginger ale. And play around with the spices too.

Ingredients: cranberry simple syrup, ginger beer, dark rum, ice

11. Christmas Coconut Cocktail

This Christmas coconut cocktail is inspired by the dreamy Coquitoco, Puerto Rico’s take on eggnog.

What makes this white coconut cocktail special is that it delivers all the eggnog flavors sans the eggs.

It’s rich and creamy, thanks to condensed milk and unsweetened coconut milk. And it’s lightly spiced to perfection with cinnamon and nutmeg. Yum!

Ingredients: unsweetened coconut milk, condensed milk, coconut rum, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg

12. Spiced Rum Milk Punch

Southern milk punch is traditionally made with bourbon. But this one earns a festive holiday twist with spiced rum.

Think of spiked rum milk punch like another eggless eggnog. It’s rich and creamy with notes of nutmeg and tastes terrific over ice.

It’s the type of cocktail that goes down easy – maybe a little too easily!

Ingredients: spiced rum, whole milk, powdered sugar, crushed ice, nutmeg

13. Rum and Cherry Brandy Christmas Cocktail

Tart cherries and spiced rum. Is there anything better?

This simple yet festive cocktail pairs a few key ingredients to create a tart, spicy, and elevated party cocktail.

Rum and cherry brandy taste are a match made in heaven.

And the addition of Amarena syrup delivers a pop of sweetness to combat the robust flavors of the rum.

Ingredients: dark rum, cherry brandy, Amarena syrup, lemon juice, ice
