2. BLEND in the marshmallow creme, then fold in the whipped topping until evenly incorporated.

Tips for the Best Cherry Cheesecake Dip

Want to ensure your dessert dip turns out perfectly smooth, creamy, and delicious? Incorporate these tips while making it:

  • Set the cream cheese out early. To prevent lumps, it should be completely softened to room temperature. I recommend leaving it out for about an hour.
  • Use a deep bowl. The ingredients can get a bit splashy, especially when you add the marshmallow creme. A deep bowl will help keep things tidy. Also, work on low speed at first, then gradually increase to medium.
  • Drain watery cherries. If the pie filling seems overly juicy, drain some of it away to keep the dip from getting watery.
  • Add the fruit last. Keep it in the fridge, then spoon it on at the last minute. This prevents the juices from bleeding too much into the creamy dip.
  • A longer chill time is preferable. The recipe states, “at least 30 minutes.” But it’s better to aim for 2-4 hours, if possible.
  • Don’t serve immediately. If it’s chilled for more than 2 hours, set it out to soften slightly. 10-15 minutes should do the trick.

Recipe Variations

Because it uses so few ingredients, this dip is easily and highly customizable. That means you can tweak the recipe however you like.

Here are a few ideas to get you started:

  • Use homemade pie filling. The canned stuff works fine. But if you’re feeling adventurous, whip up your own. It’s also a great way to use up leftovers.
  • Substitute other filling flavors. This recipe is equally delicious with blueberry, strawberry, or apple pie filling. Try it with your favorite!
  • Add mix-ins. My favorites include crushed Oreos, mini chocolate chips, and toffee bits. Crushed nuts, cookie crumbs, or a swirl of your favorite sweet sauce work well too.
  • Need a chocolatey fix? Mix in 1/4 cup of cocoa powder or a swirl of hot fudge sauce.
  • Add extracts to tweak the flavor. Both vanilla and almond extract work well. You could also stir in some fresh citrus juice or zest for a tangy twist.
  • Do single servings. Portion the dip into individual serving cups and top each with pie filling and a dipper or two.
  • Try different dippers. The traditional dippers are graham crackers as they mimic the crust of classic cheesecakes. But you can also serve the dip with Nilla wafers, Teddy Grahams, cookies, pretzels, fruit, and more.

How to Store

If you take this dip to a gathering, you likely won’t have any left. But if you do, that’s okay! It tastes even better after more time in the fridge.

To Store: Refrigerate the dip in an airtight container or tightly wrapped in plastic for up to 3 days.

The next time you need a quick and easy party dessert, try this no-bake cherry cheesecake dip. It’s sweet, creamy, and guaranteed to please.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces full fat cream cheese, softened

  • 7 ounces marshmallow creme

  • 8 ounces whipped topping, thawed

  • 1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth. Scrape the bottom and sides of the bowl and beat again until lump-free.
  • Gradually blend in the marshmallow creme, beating until thoroughly combined and fluffy. Gently stir in the whipped topping by hand with a spatula until evenly incorporated.
  • Transfer the cream cheese mixture into a pie dish, serving bowl, or an 8×8-inch square dish. Spread it out to create an even layer.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the dip to set.
  • Just before serving, spoon the cherry pie filling over the cheesecake dip. Serve immediately with dippers, such as graham crackers, vanilla wafers, or fresh fruit. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Set the cream cheese out early to soften. But chill the pie filling so the dip stays cool.
  • Add the pie filling just before serving. This helps prevent the juices from bleeding into the dip.
  • Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving. If making ahead, allow the dip to warm slightly (for 10-15 minutes) before serving to let it soften.
