Tips For the Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip

You can dip pretty much anything into this glorious dip – graham crackers, pretzels, vanilla wafers, cookies, biscotti, apple slices, marshmallows – the sky’s the limit.

It’s the ultimate crowd-pleaser and a surefire way to satisfy those sweet cravings. And to ensure it’s perfect, check out these tips:

  • Room temperature. Ensure the cream cheese and butter are softened to room temperature for easy mixing.
  • Beat well. Beat the cream cheese and butter until completely smooth before adding the other ingredients to avoid lumps.
  • Low then high. Mix in the sugars, vanilla, and salt on low speed first to avoid a powdery mess, then increase speed to make it fluffy.
  • Fold chips. Fold in the mini chocolate chips by hand instead of using the mixer to keep them intact.
  • Chill if needed. If your dip seems too soft, pop it in the fridge for 15-30 minutes to let it firm up a bit before serving.
  • Variations. Mix in other flavors like peanut butter, toffee bits, M&Ms, chopped nuts, or sprinkles for fun variations.

How to Store

This cookie dough dip is insanely addictive. But if you can hold yourself back, it’ll store well for a few days.

To Store: Transfer the cookie dough dip to an airtight container and keep it in the fridge for 4-5 days.

Let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before serving and mix well to make it soft and creamy.

Note: I don’t recommend freezing this dip as the cream cheese can become grainy, and the texture may become crumbly after thawing.
