When I heard the words “viral cookie croissant”, I ran to TikTok to check it out.
And yes, it’s as insanely indulgent as you think it is.
But before you pastry purists get mad – Le Crookie is a super fun dessert hybrid from the Maison Louvard bakery in Paris, France.
What Is a Cookie Croissant?
As the name suggests, this stunningly rich dessert is a cross between two pastry faves – cookies and croissants.
It features a buttery croissant stuffed with chocolate chip cookie dough, then baked until gooey.
I first saw it on @annakloots feed, selling for 5,90 euros. And my jaw dropped!
I mean, how can you beat a flaky croissant served warm with gooey chocolate chip cookie dough inside?
Here’s her original video so you can see it in all its glory:
2 Ingredient Cookie Croissants
Not to state the obvious, but any recreation of this viral treat will pale in comparison to the OG.
There’s just no possible way to make it as good when the bakery in question is known to have some of the best croissants in all of Paris.
And that’s saying a lot!
But you can make an easy, super tasty copycat with just two ingredients:
- Store-Bought Croissants: Get some at your local bakery or grab a big pack from Costco if you prefer.
- Ready-Made Cookie Dough: Any brand will do. Just make sure it’s softened before you start.
Of course, you can totally make both (or part) of this from scratch if you like. And in that case, here’s an awesome recipe for chocolate chip cookies.
How to Make Le Crookie
Believe it or not, you can have a whole tray of these ready in under 15 minutes.
Here’s how to make easy cookie croissants:
1. Slice baked croissants in half horizontally
2. Add a layer of cookie dough to the bottom half and then press the top down so it sticks.
3. Add more cookie dough to the top (optional) and bake at 350°F (180°C) in the oven or 320°F (160°C) in the air fryer for 10-12 minutes.
4. Cool for 2-4 minutes, dust with powdered sugar, and enjoy!

Recipe Tips and Variations
It might be an easy 2-ingredient dessert, but I always have tips up my sleeve.
So, before you start, read the following for the best crookies ever!
- Less is more. It’s tempting to overstuff the croissant with cookie dough. But if you add too much, it won’t bake.
- Use cold but soft cookie dough. Right out of the fridge, it’s too hard to spread inside or add to the top of the croissant. But you don’t want it too soft, or it’ll spread too far. Aim for cold but easily scoopable.
- Try different cookie dough flavors. Why not try chocolate cookies, Snickerdoodles, or chewy ginger cookies? There are no wrong answers in this sweet treat.
- Add some sauce. A drizzle of salted caramel or hot fudge would take this over the top.
- Try not to flatten the croissant. Part of the appeal here is flaky, buttery pastry goodness with the cookies. So, try not to flatten or press the croissant too hard.
- Make them ahead. Assemble the croissants with cookie dough, wrap, and freeze. Bake them from frozen with a few extra minutes in the oven.
Worried About Raw Cookie Dough?
The best part of this recipe is breaking the croissant open to see gooey chocolate chip cookie dough inside.
And it’s best served warm so the chocolate stays nice and gooey.
But I have a simple hack if you’re worried about eating raw cookie dough!
Fill the croissant with this easy, edible cookie dough recipe. Then, top it with regular cookie dough before baking.
You’ll get the best gooey filling and perfectly baked cookies on top!
Or serve it cold without the added cookie on top. It’s just as scrumptious!
How to Store
It probably won’t come as a surprise to hear that these are best made and enjoyed on the same day.
The longer they sit, the soggier the croissant will get.
But if you happen to have leftovers, here’s what to do, and more importantly, here’s how to reheat them!
To Store: Place cooled cookie croissants in an airtight container and keep at room temperature for up to 2 days. For longer storage, refrigerate in a sealed container for up to 5 days.
To Freeze: Wrap individual cookie croissants tightly in plastic wrap and place in a freezer-safe bag for up to 1 month. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
To Reheat: Warm cookie croissants in a preheated 350°F oven for 5-7 minutes until crispy.

My first thought for the homemade cookie dough was the brown butter chocolate cookies! Seems like that would be perfect with the croissant! I love scrolling the recipes!
OMG JC, the brown butter cookie dough on croissants should be illegal.
I made a very small batch and struggled to share 🙂
if the croissants are already baked before stuffing them will they be burned or be over done?
Hi there!
It’s actually quite common for bakeries to re-use day old croissant and turn them into something new, such as the Crookie or almond croissants.
In both cases, the croissant is stuffed and then baked. But they don’t burn (unless you cook them for too long).
Instead, the just crisp up and become flaky again.
It’s important to keep an eye on them and to not over-do it with the cookie dough.
If they’re in the oven for too long, the croissant and the cookie dough will burn.
So, keep the cookie dough in a thin layer so it has time to bake, and the croissant should come out perfect!
