If you love citrus or want to perk up your recipes, tangelo is a great fruit to try.

Packed with an intense flavor full of zest and zing, it’s utterly bursting with citrusy goodness.

Add it to salads, turn it into curd, or make dreamy creamsicles to beat the summer heat.

Whether you’re dabbling with baked goods or cocktails, these tangelo recipes will inspire new culinary sensations.

1. Tangelo Muffins

For breakfast, brunch, or a snack, tangelo muffins are a great addition to the day.

They’re light, sweet, tangy, and packed with citrus.

Add the zesty tangelo icing for a decadent twist. It’s such a simple step that makes these muffins taste like dessert.

I like to bake them in a mini-muffin pan. Then, I freeze the leftovers for having tasty tidbits on hand.

Even if you’re not much of a baker, these are easy to whip up.

2. Tangelo Creamsicles

These whimsical creamsicles will make you feel like a kid all over again!

They’re a low-cal yogurt dessert that’s similar to an orange creamsicle, except they’re a bit tangier.

Since you make them with Greek yogurt, they’re healthier too. Adjust the sugar to your liking, or skip it entirely.

If you do, all you need is tangelo juice, yogurt, and vanilla. A popsicle mold helps, too.

3. Easy Lemon Tangelo Tarts

Add a little cheer to your day with these bright tarts.

The soft and creamy texture is divine. Not to mention, the flavor is a citrus lover’s dream.

The sweet tangelo and mouth-puckering lemons balance each other out.

Be sure to use the zest and the juice of both fruits. It’s what gives them their perky flavor.

Also, they do need to chill so they can set before serving. If you’re making them for brunch or a party, plan ahead.

4. Tangelo Curd

Curd is not something I make nearly enough. Yet when I do, I opt for tangelo flavored.

Tangelos are a cross between tangerines and grapefruit. So the curd tastes tart, sweet, and tangy.

As for curd itself, it’s basically a thick creamy condiment. You make it with egg yolks, butter, and sugar.

In this case, it’s all about tangelo!

Smear it on toast, add it to granola, or dollop it on yogurt. It’s a great substitute for homemade jams or jellies.

5. Tangelo Cake

Looking to test your baking skills? Turn tangelos into this ravishing cake.

The sliced tangelo topping will pique the curiosity of any citrus fanatic.

While the gooey cake and cinnamon sugar crust bottom deserves their own attention.

To achieve the topping, you bake the cake like an upside-down pineapple cake.

You coat the bottom of the pan in caramel sauce. Then, layer the tangelo slices on top.

When you flip it over, the citrus slices are caramelized on top.

6. Tangelocello

Are citrus cocktails your adult beverage of choice? Then you need tangelocello in your life.

Tangelocello is very similar to limoncello. The difference is this Italian liqueur is made with, you guessed it, tangelos.

A grain alcohol-like vodka works well. You also need plenty of tangelo juice.

It’s a fun thing to try if you have a bounty of extra fruit. If you’re into mixology or craft cocktails, you find plenty of uses, too.

7. Goat Cheese and Tangelo Winter Salad

Tangelos are ripe for the picking in winter. So if you require extra vitamin C, add them to your winter salad.

This immune-boosting salad is precisely what your body needs.

The leafy greens, radishes, and tangelo slices pack in a ton of vitamins and minerals while goat cheese adds calcium and protein.

And let’s face it, salad just tastes better with goat cheese.

Sometimes, I add beets when I need an additional detoxifying boost, especially if I’ve been overdoing it on the baked goods.

8. Tangelo Salad with Roasted Beetroot

Speaking of beets, they’re particularly good roasted when pairing them with tangelos.

Add them to a bed of baby greens with pine nuts and radishes for a crunch.

These flavors are so bright and fresh. It’d be a shame to drown them out with a heavy creamy dressing.

Leave that to the other salads. This one needs a simple vinaigrette.

Vegan-friendly, low-carb, and gluten-free, it’s a healthy dinner salad to add to the mix.

9. Tangelo-Cardamom Vodka

If you like fruity and fizzy cocktails, you’ll love this!

The tangelo-cardamom-infused vodka is truly something else.

Cardamom is aromatic with notes of citrus, further enhancing the tangelo.

The infusion process isn’t hard either. Just add those two ingredients to unflavored vodka and let it sit.

Five days later, pour it into a champagne glass with Germain liqueur and raspberry soda.

It’s a bit of a wait, but a worthy cocktail indeed.

10. Tangelo Sidecar

Sidecar is a classic cocktail that’s even better with a tangelo twist.

It’s super easy too. Measure out cognac and triple sec, then mix it with tangelo juice.

Rim the glass with sugar for a sweeter sip. For a simple garnish, use a tangelo slice.

With the tangelo sidecar, you’re just 5 minutes away from relaxation time.

11. Tangelo Tequila Spritzer

A name like tangelo tequila spritzer has party time written all over it!

So bust out the chips and salsa, and call your friends. This bright cocktail is reason enough for a get-together.

The tequila mixed with tangelo, lime, agave, and seltzer is enchanting.

I think it will also make a great addition to a big Cinco de Mayo bash.

12. Tangelo Margarita

Give me a margarita, and I’m a happy gal. Give me a tangelo margarita, and I’m on vacation mode.

The addition of tangelo juice makes it taste extra orangey. So does the tangelo-rimmed glass.

Do yourself a favor and skip the margarita mix. This craft cocktail deserves select ingredients.

Trust me, it makes a world of difference.

13. Gold Kiwi Salad with Tangelo Granita

Do you know what else tastes like a vacation? This granita!

Granita is a type of semi-frozen dessert. And this one tastes like paradise in a glass.

You place golden kiwi and passionfruit on the bottom, then top it with tangelo granita.

While it sounds fancy, making the granita is super easy.

You dissolve sugar in tangelo juice with cardamon, then freeze. That’s all there is to it.

14. Tangelo, Halloumi, and Olive Winter Salad

Tangelos may be ripe in the winter, but I could eat this all year long.

It’s a fantastic option for those who want a lettuce-free salad. There’s not a green leaf in this dish.

Well, okay, there is mint. But since it’s an herb, it doesn’t count.

The rest is a big plate of tangelo slices, pan-fried halloumi, and olives.

15. Creamy Coconut Tangelo Rice Pudding

Rice pudding is one of those desserts that’s often overlooked. Yet when it’s done right, it becomes the center of attention.

And this version will captivate your tastebuds!

Coconut milk makes it rich and tropical. Meanwhile, tangelo juice makes it bright, zippy, and tangy.

The Chinese Five Spice blend topping may sound like an odd choice. But it totally works.
