Savory, sweet, and spicy – these crispy baked chicken wings have it all!

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds chicken wings, halved at joints, wingtips discarded

  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

  • For the Honey Sriracha Sauce:
  • 1/3 cup Sriracha sauce

  • 1 cup honey

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  • Adjust the oven rack to the upper-middle position and preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place a lightly greased wire rack on top.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder, and cornstarch. Thoroughly dry the wings with paper towels. Then, sprinkle the seasoning over the wings, tossing to coat them evenly.
  • Arrange the wings, skin side up, in a single layer on the prepared wire rack.
  • Bake on the upper-middle oven rack, turning every 20 minutes, until the wings are crispy and golden. This could take up to 1 hour, depending on wing size.
  • Let the wings rest for 5 minutes after removing them from the oven.
  • Meanwhile, make the honey Sriracha sauce. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine Sriracha, honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Stir well until the honey is fully dissolved and the sauce is smooth.
  • Cool the sauce slightly before tossing with the wings, or prepare ahead and refrigerate.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Marinate the wings in a mix of soy sauce and ginger for an hour before seasoning for deeper flavor.
  • Brush the wings with sauce halfway through baking for a richer glaze.
