It’s rich, savory, and perfect for brunch. But do you know what to serve with quiche?
Whether you serve it hot or cold, there are a ton of tasty options!
Quiche is a traditional French egg tart with a pastry crust.
I like it loaded with ham and cheese, but this spinach quiche is a close second!
Of course, there are so many quiche recipes out there that you can easily serve it for any meal of the day.
And while quiche is incredible all by itself, it always tastes so much better when paired with a few side dishes.
Serve this delightful dish with a green salad, fresh fruit, or even classic tomato soup.
Try a few pairings and let me know what you think! Or better yet, comment below and share your favorite combo 🙂
1. 1905 Salad
Quiche is a hearty pie, so you’ll want something light to pair it with.
When it comes to light sides, you can never go wrong with a simple salad. It’s nutritious, delicious, and easy to whip up!
This 1905 salad recipe is tangy and loaded with texture. But you could make all kinds of salads with quiche. Try one of these:
- A simple mixed salad with red onions and tomatoes in a balsamic vinaigrette goes well with any quiche. It’s a light and refreshing side with subtle flavors that won’t overpower the star of your meal.
- Salad with Nuts and Berries – If you’re serving an extra rich and hearty quiche, say, one with lots of cheese and bacon, whip up a salad topped with nuts and dried berries. These flavors and textures complement one another beautifully.
- Salad with Prosciutto – Now, if your quiche is all veggie, such as a tomato and basil quiche, add some protein to your salad. Some nice savory prosciutto or crisp bacon are both fantastic options.
2. Fruit Salad
If you want a sweet and tangy salad to contrast the savory flavors of quiche, pair it with a simple and refreshing bowl of fruit salad.
Drizzle your choice of fruits or berries with a beautiful lime and honey glaze to elevate their flavor.
Or add peach pie filling. It brings sweetness and moisture in one go!
3. Honey Beer Bread
Bread, in one form or another, is a traditional side dish item wherever you are in the world.
And while most breads work with quiche, I love this honey beer bread. It’s so tender, and the light sweetness works so well with eggy quiche.
4. Dill Pickle Pasta Salad
Wanna know a fantastic counterpoint to the rich flavors of quiche? The tangy bite of vinegar.
And do you know what foods are very vinegary? Yup, that’s right… pickles!
This dill pickle salad is full of tangy goodness! If you love pickles, you will definitely love this pasta.
I think it would be best served with a ham and cheese quiche.
5. Tomato Soup
Quiche and tomato soup may be a slightly unexpected combo. But I promise, it actually works!
Because you can’t go wrong with two delicious things on the same table.
I think tomato soup and a five-cheese quiche would be best friends.
That said, you could also try one of these:
- Chicken soup is perfect if you’re serving a veggie quiche. The chicken in the soup makes up for the lack of protein or meat in the quiche.
- Vegetable bisque is another good option. Zucchini and butternut squash both make for a good soup base. Top it with sour cream, bacon, and chives to complete the dish.
- Cold soups such as gazpacho also work well with quiche! The contrast of hot and cold makes for a beautiful harmony of temperatures.
6. Sauteed Mushrooms with Garlic Butter
These delicious buttery mushrooms are the perfect side for any entree. Not only are they seriously easy to make, but they are so flavorful.
The reason these mushrooms are so intensely mushroomy is because of the cooking process.
At first, you brown the mushrooms without anything until their juices are released. That gives you the best flavor.
Then you’ll sautee as normal, with lots of butter, oil, garlic, and herbs. Once the mushrooms are caramelized, you’re ready to eat!
7. Crispy Roasted Mini Potatoes
If you typically think of quiche as breakfast/brunch food, then potatoes just make sense.
These potatoes feature a simple marinade of oil, garlic, rosemary, parsley, and thyme. Plus salt and pepper, of course.
Then, you’ll slow-roast them for around an hour.
The result is a steamy, fluffy potato with super crispy, salty skin. It’s perfect.
8. Scalloped Potatoes
These scalloped potatoes are thick, creamy, and comforting. Serve them with quiche and you have the ultimate comfort brunch.
It’s simply made for a cozy, winter morning brunch in PJs.
Serve with veggie quiche for a bit of balance, or go all-out-soul-food with Quiche Lorraine.
9. Sauteed Asparagus
This easy side is ready in only 10 minutes but it is SO yummy! All you need is a bunch of asparagus, butter, garlic, lemon, and seasonings.
They’re so buttery and garlicky that your mouth will do a happy dance. And the pop of brightness from the lemon rounds out the deliciousness factor.
10. Oven-Baked Potato Wedges
You just can’t go wrong with potatoes!
These delicious wedges are coated in plenty of seasonings and parmesan cheese. Then, they’re baked until fork-tender and golden.
They’re easy and delicious!
11. Sweet Potato Hash
Sweet plus savory and totally delicious? That’s exactly what you’ll get in this sweet potato hash.
It’s loaded with garlic and onions and roasted until everything is caramelized.
This hash would be delicious with Quiche Lorraine or a vegetarian one.
12. Monkey Bread Muffins
Monkey bread is sort of like an easier-to-make and shareable cinnamon roll. This muffin version is simply more portable and potentially less messy.
You can make these delicious muffins with canned biscuit dough. Add cinnamon, sugar, and buttery caramel before baking – and that’s it!
You can drizzle them with a simple icing to finish them off. Just make sure to bake enough of them because they will go fast!
13. Spinach Salad with Creamy Balsamic
Here’s another simple and delicious salad to balance out the richness of your quiche. Each forkful is fresh and utterly delicious.
It features a mixture of spinach, red onion, cranberries, avocados, walnuts, cucumbers, and goat cheese. Doesn’t that sound amazing?
But it gets better because of the creamy balsamic vinaigrette. It’s tangy, sweet, and so flavorful! It brings all the flavors of the fresh ingredients together beautifully.
14. Greek Rice Salad
This salad is so fresh and hearty, you can’t help but love it. It’s loaded with goodies like artichokes, feta, olives, cucumber, and tomatoes.
Toss everything in a red wine vinaigrette to complete the salad. #delicious
15. Air-Fryer Hash Browns
Just imagine this… a bacon, egg, and cheese quiche with hash browns on the side. It’s a classic breakfast combo!
And these easy, crispy, salty, delicious air-fryer hash browns are the best.
16. Otis Spunkmeyer’s Blueberry Muffins
The previous blueberry muffin recipe yields a more cakey muffin. But this copycat recipe is gloriously dense. And even moister than the other.
The secret is instant vanilla pudding mix. The mix adds extra fat, so it’s moister and more flavorful. Plus, the gelatin in the pudding mix adds structure and thickness to the batter.
And, of course, these muffins are chock-full of blueberries!
17. Cracker Barrel Hashbrown Casserole
Holy yum, this breakfast casserole is loaded with potatoes, cheese, and flavor! It’s the epitome of comfort food and I know you’ll love it.
I think it would be delicious with a vegetable quiche or a super meaty one.
18. Braided Onion Bread
Now, THIS bread makes a statement. It states that you really love your guests and you care about their taste buds. One bite and they will love you even more than they already do.
This caramelized onion and cheese-filled brioche knot takes some time, love, and patience. But every step and every second is totally worth it.
Every bite is a little sweet and totally savory. It’s an umami bomb in bread form. And it just so happens to taste amazing with a slice of quiche.
19. Focaccia Bread
Focaccia bread is one of the most flavorful loaves of bread around. It’s soft and salty, but it has a crispy topping that is to die for. I absolutely love it.
And it’s also incredibly easy to make, at least as far as bread goes. And this recipe is even easier. You’ll just need to start making it a day before you want to bake it.
It’s simple and savory, baked with salt and rosemary. It’s delicious and it goes with any quiche your heart desires.
20. Three Bean Salad
This salad is as yummy as it is healthy… which is very! You might be surprised at just how delicious beans can be.
Of course, if you love beans of all shapes and sizes, you already know. As for health benefits, this salad is loaded with fiber, protein, and vitamins.
This salad features green beans, garbanzo beans (chickpeas), and kidney beans. Finish it off with a sweet and tangy, simple vinaigrette and you’re good to go!
