You won’t want a lot of heavy, overindulgent meals to weigh everyone down.

You’ll want people up, dancing, and having fun! Still, people get hungry, so you’ll need plenty of light, easy-to-eat snacks. Cookies are great for that.

Plus, they help soak up the alcohol in your stomach!

If you’re thinking about hosting your own New Year’s soiree, you’ll need to check out these 10 recipes for awesome New Year’s Eve cookies.

1. New Year’s Eve Cookies

When you’re on the hunt for the best New Year’s Eve cookies, it’s hard to overlook something literally called New Year’s Eve cookies.

These gorgeous, three-ingredient, star-shaped cookies are pretty perfect.

They’re easy to make and delicious, but it’s more about their remarkable shape and the festive edible glitter.

The cookies are soft and supremely buttery.

Once they’re dipped in chocolate glaze and coated with sparkling glitter, it’s hard for anyone to turn them down.

Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies with Hershey Kisses

2. Peanut Butter Kiss Blossom Cookies

These cookies are exceptionally chewy and sugary. While they may look a little plain, what they lack in excitement, they make up for in taste.

They’re the ideal combination of sugar cookies and peanut butter cookies, and the rich, chocolatey Hershey’s Kiss in the middle of each one adds even more delectable decadence.

Plus, you’ll only need six ingredients and about 20 minutes to whip up an entire batch.

3. Italian Champagne Cookies

Since these cookies contain precisely zero ounces of champagne, I have no idea how they got their name. Regardless, though, they’re fantastic.

They’re crispy, buttery, and have that rich shortbread flavor that tastes so incredible in a cookie. And best of all, they’re super festive.

You can use whatever colors you like to get the specific appearance you need.

If you’re having a themed party, go with whatever colors you used for decorating.

As an alternative, you could always use white and yellowish-gold to represent your wish for peace and joy in the new year.

Just remember: No matter how they look, they’ll taste amazing.

4. Greek Honey Cookies With Walnuts (Melomakarona)

People traditionally serve melomakarona cookies during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, so while these may not look festive, they’re ideal for your New Year’s Eve party.

The ingredients list is a little long, but it’s worth it for such a syrupy-sweet, honey-flavored cookie.

Despite the lengthy list, they aren’t difficult or time-consuming to make.

You can make 60 in less than an hour, and that’s a good thing.

Your guests will love their spiced, nutty flavor and their crunchy texture so much, they’ll definitely come back for seconds – maybe even thirds.

5. Funfetti Cookies

When you’re planning a party, Funfetti should be one of your very best friends.

It’s the easiest way to turn anything – no matter how plain – into a fun and festive treat.

These sweet, chewy sugar cookies are a classic, and they’re always a hit no matter who’s eating them, but they don’t exactly scream ‘New Year’s Eve!’

However, if you top each one in extra sugar and Funfetti, that all changes.

You’ll have a perfectly pretty party cookie that’ll fit in with everything else on your table.

6. Crescent Cookies

There are some occasions for which you’ll need a cookie that tastes a certain way.

At other times, you’ll need something with an appearance that fits with a specific theme.

Luckily, crescent cookies can potentially meet both of those requirements.

For example, if you’re looking for a cookie that’s nutty, crunchy, and only lightly sweet, they’ll fulfill that need flawlessly.

Additionally, if you’re having a swanky, black-and-white-themed, black-tie New Year’s Eve party, you’ll want a white cookie that’s elegant and sophisticated.

Again, crescent cookies for the win!

There aren’t many occasions where these cookies aren’t the ideal option.

7. M&M Firework Cookies

You can make two dozen of these vibrant, red, white, and blue firework cookies in less than half an hour.

They’re soft and chewy on the inside, but they have wonderfully crisp edges.

They’re buttery with a warm, rich brown sugar flavor that complements the chocolatey yumminess of the M&Ms spectacularly.

The sprinkles don’t add much taste, but they look incredible.

Don’t worry, if red, white, and blue isn’t your thing, you can swap out the colors for any others you like better.

Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies

8. Chocolate Chip Cookies

If you’re a regular visitor to my site, you’ve likely seen this DoubleTree chocolate chip cookie recipe before, but there’s a good reason for that.

It’s the best chocolate chip cookie recipe there is!

They’re so soft and moist that they nearly fall apart in your hands, and the flavor combination from the walnuts and the chocolate chips is simply unbeatable.

I can’t foresee the future, of course, but it’s hard for me to believe that I’ll ever find a chocolate chip cookie recipe that I like more than this one.

9. Champagne Sugar Cookies

The most significant difference between these cookies and the Italian champagne cookies above is that these actually contain champagne.

You’ll also cook them with cake mix, making them much fluffier, lighter, and moister than traditional cookies.

Finally, the addition of pomegranate juice, along with the champagne, gives them a sweetly tart flavor that’s out of this world.

White Chocolate Oreo Cookie Balls

10. Oreo Cookie Balls

Strictly speaking, these may not be cookies, but you’ll make them with Oreo cookies.

Plus, they have a great cream cheese and Oreo cookie flavor that’s rich, decadent, and the perfect complement to wine or champagne.

One of the best things about them, though, is that you won’t have to do a single bit of cooking or baking to make them.

This is excellent news if you’re already busy planning a party.

Simply crush your Oreos and mix them with the cream cheese. Roll them into balls and coat them in melted white chocolate.

(Pro tip: If you want to make them more sparkly and festive, add some silver and gold edible glitter or sprinkles to the top of each one.)
