Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds Russet potatoes, rinsed and peeled

  • 1 1/2 cups water (for cooking potatoes)

  • 1/4 cup butter

  • 1 medium onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • 4 cups chicken broth

  • 1-2 cups milk

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, plus more for garnish

  • 1/2 cup sour cream

  • 4-5 slices bacon, cooked and chopped

  • 2 green onions, diced

Instructions
