Many of the cocktails on this list are sweet and tropical.

A few have a bit of tartness or tanginess to them, but for the most part, they’re ideal for Island vacations.

That’s because rum – both light and dark – has a sweet, mild flavor that blends well with most ingredients, particularly sweet, tropical ones.

So if you’re the kind of person who loves sweet drinks and you don’t always like to taste your alcohol while you’re drinking it, these Captain Morgan drinks might just be the way to go.

Easy Captain Morgan Rum Cocktails

1. Pineapple Rum Cocktails

When it comes to classic cocktail combinations, it’s hard to beat pineapple juice and rum.

That’s precisely what you’ll use in this drink, along with lime juice, ice, and pineapple leaves and cherries for garnishes.

It’s tart, tangy, and full of pineapple yumminess.

2. TGI Friday’s Captain Morgan Island Rum Punch

This beautiful, sunset-colored drink features both dark and spiced rum, amaretto, grenadine, and three kinds of fruit juices (passion fruit, pineapple, and orange).

It has a vibrant, sweet, and fruity taste that’ll instantly transport you to the most magical beach setting you can imagine.

It takes 5 minutes to whip up, and it’s almost an exact replica of TGI Friday’s rum punch.

So if you’re a fan of that or Hawaiian Punch, you’ll probably really enjoy this drink.

3. Captain’s Passion Punch

If you want to make a delicious rum punch but don’t have all the ingredients on hand to make the TGI Friday’s copycat recipe, make this simple rum punch instead.

It features spiced rum and amaretto, but the lack of dark rum makes the drink lighter and less complex in its flavor.

There’s also pineapple juice and passion fruit juice.

However, the absence of grenadine and orange juice means it’s slightly sweeter and less tart than the TGI Friday’s version.

Add fresh raspberries to make it prettier and add a little extra oomph.

4. Dark & Stormy

If you’re looking for a rum cocktail that’s richer and less sugary sweet, try the original Dark and Stormy.

It’s a gorgeous drink with a totally unique appearance and a taste to match.

The spicy ginger beer and lime juice complement the spiced rum perfectly, giving the drink a phenomenal taste that’s hard to describe but easy to love.

5. Captain and Coke

Here’s another potent, simple cocktail that you can whip up with absolutely no trouble at all. All you’ll need is Captain Morgan and a can of Coca-Cola.

It tastes like sweet, spiked Coke, and you won’t find many people who don’t appreciate its crisp simplicity.

6. Mai Tai

Mai Tais are probably one of the most common and well-loved beach drinks there are.

That’s partly due to their sweet and tangy taste and partly due to how strong they are.

Additionally, they’re super simple to make, requiring nothing more than coconut rum, spiced rum, orange juice, pineapple juice, and grenadine.

You’ll love its beautiful, sunset-like appearance and its wonderfully fruity taste.

7. Morgan’s Melon

Making the perfect cocktail isn’t tricky, but it often requires measuring several ingredients to get the flavor balance right.

You can cut down on the work by using a sweet and sour mix.

That, a slice of watermelon, and Captain Morgan’s spiced rum are all you’ll need for this pretty pink cocktail.

The drink has a lightly sweet watermelon flavor with just enough sharpness to make it unbeatable.

8. Pirate’s Float

The pirate’s float looks like a tall glass of Coca-Cola, and it does have Coke in it.

However, mostly, you’ll use Captain Morgan’s spiced rum and root beer schnapps.

It tastes mildly soda-sweet, strongly of root beer, and has underlying hints of spice and alcohol that round it out into something terrific.

9. Spiced Cranberry Lime Cocktail

This four-ingredient drink is bubbly, zesty, and will give your nose a bit of a tickle!

It takes mere moments to make, and all you’ll need is cranberry juice, ginger ale, and lime juice.

Oh, and the Captain Morgan Cannon Blast, of course! We can’t leave that part out, as it’s the most important part!

It’s much more tart than sweet, and there’s a hint of pleasant bitterness, as well.

10. Rum Runner

The famous rum runner has all the fruity, sugary sweetness of your favorite fun and colorful drink, but it packs a much stronger punch.

With spiced rum, light rum, Malibu rum, and amaretto, it doesn’t have much choice but to be strong.

The pineapple juice, grenadine, and garnishes are just there to add a bit of color and flavor.

This drink is one you’ll want to sip, not gulp.

Otherwise, the potent alcohol content might just sneak up on you and catch you by surprise, and we wouldn’t want that!

11. Captain’s Lime Shandy

If you’re looking for another option that’s a bit on the sourer side, give the Captain’s lime shandy a try.

You’ll make it with ice, dark rum, key lime juice, beer, lime soda, and bitters.

Add a few key lime slices and sprigs of rosemary as a garnish, and you’re good to go.

As you might imagine, the cocktail has a strong lime flavor, and the beer adds some earthiness, too.

This one is by no means a sweet drink. I’m not sure “bittertart” is a word, but if it were, that’s the word I’d use to describe this entirely unique and exceptional drink.

12. Spiced Pina Colada

This recipe takes the traditional pina colada one and adds a spicy twist. You’ll still make it with cream of coconut, pineapple juice, ice, and rum.

However, instead of white rum or coconut rum, which are standard, you’ll use Captain Morgan’s spiced rum.

Doing so allows it to retain its sweet and tropical flavor while also adding a rich, complex spice profile that’s hard not to love.

13. Mango Mojito

Is it just me, or is the mojito the perfect drink? It’s crisp, fresh, and refreshing, and it’s so easy to make.

This mango mojito is no exception. You won’t even have to whip up a simple syrup for it!

You’ll need only three ingredients: Captain Morgan Parrot Bay Mango, mango puree, and fresh mint.

It tastes a lot like a traditional minty mojito, only with a lot more mango thrown in the mix.

14. Hurricane

The Hurricane is a hugely popular drink, particularly in New Orleans, where it was “born.” It’s strong, fruity, and 100% utterly delicious.

It’s a simple drink of rum, lime juice, orange juice, simple syrup, passion fruit juice, and grenadine, with a maraschino cherry and orange slice on the side.

I’ve loved this drink for years.

As such, I’m almost embarrassed to admit that I only learned about two years ago that it was named for the glass you serve it in instead of an actual hurricane.

Embarrassed, yes, but I never can resist sharing a funny story, even if it’s at my own expense.

15. Captain Morgan Long Island Iced Tea

Most people are pretty familiar with the Long Island iced tea, but in case you aren’t – or in case you are but don’t know how to make it – here’s one of my favorite recipes for it.

It combines Captain Morgan Silver Spiced with vodka, triple sec, sweet and sour mix, Coca-Cola, Tanqueray London Dry, tequila, and a lemon wedge.

It’s not the standard Long Island Iced Tea recipe that everyone uses, but if you’re looking for something insanely strong and pretty tasty, give it a try anyway.
