Asian steak bites are my new favorite dinner obsession! Tender, juicy morsels of sirloin steak are marinated in a sweet and savory Asian-inspired sauce.

I sear them until they’re caramelized on the outside but nice and tender on the inside.

The best part? These bites are easy to make. A little chopping, a quick marinade, and a few minutes in the pan, and you have a dish to impress.

Once you try these Asian steak bites, they’ll be on regular rotation!

Tips for the Best Asian Steak Bites

Follow these simple tips to make your steak bites shine.

  • Keep things even. Cut the steak into uniform 1-inch cubes so they cook evenly.
  • Select your favorite steak. Flank steak, skirt steak, ribeye, or New York strip also work well in addition to sirloin.
  • Spice it up. Add more red pepper flakes or a dash of sriracha to make the dish spicier if desired.
  • Cut the carbs. Use coconut aminos and a sugar-free sweetener to make this recipe keto-friendly.
  • Have fun with serving ideas. Serve the steak bites over white rice, cauliflower rice, or lo mein noodles. Top with stir-fried vegetables like broccoli, peppers, and onions on the side.

How to Store

Follow these steps to keep leftover steak bites fresh.

To Store: Asian steak bites can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days when stored in an air-tight container.

To Freeze: Place the cooled steak bites in a single layer on a baking sheet to freeze individually. Once frozen, transfer them to a freezer-safe bag or container and store for up to 1-3 months.

To Reheat: For the best results, reheat the steak bites in a skillet over medium heat until warmed through. Or, use an air fryer for a quick and crispy texture.

These Asian steak bites are the perfect blend of umami, sweet, and savory! They’re also easy to make, so they’re perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes

  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce or coconut aminos

  • 1 tbsp honey or sugar-free sweetener like Swerve

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger

  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

  • 2 tbsp sesame oil

  • 2 tsp toasted sesame seeds

  • Chopped cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  • Cut the steak into small 1-inch cubes, trying to make them as even in size as possible so they cook evenly. Place the steak bites in a medium bowl.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Pour the marinade over the steak bites and toss to coat well. Let marinate for 20-30 minutes at room temperature or up to 2 hours in the fridge.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add 1 tablespoon of the sesame oil. Using a slotted spoon, add half of the steak bites in a single layer. Let them sear undisturbed for about 2 minutes, then quickly flip and cook the other side for 1 more minute. They should be browned on the outside but still pink and tender inside. Transfer to a bowl.
  • Repeat with the remaining oil and steak bites. Once all the steak is cooked, pour any reserved marinade into the hot pan. Bring to a boil and cook until reduced and thickened, 4-5 minutes. Pour over the steak bites.
  • Garnish the Asian steak bites with toasted sesame seeds and chopped cilantro. Serve immediately with rice and vegetables on the side.
