Ingredients

  • Rainbow Sherbet: The colorful star of the show! Slightly softened scoops make the punch creamy and fun.
  • Pineapple Juice: A tropical splash of sweet, tangy flavor. It adds a sunny brightness to every sip.
  • Lemon-Lime Soda: Use chilled Sprite or 7-Up. This bubbly, citrusy, sweet soda is responsible for the fizz and brings this punch to life.

How to Make Sherbet Punch

Follow these quick and easy steps to make sherbet punch:

1. Scoop the sherbet. Scoop the sherbet into a large punch bowl. Scooping it while still mostly frozen will help it keep its shape and melt more slowly.

2. Add the juice. Pour the chilled pineapple juice over the scoops of sherbet.

3. Add the soda. Slowly pour the chilled lemon-lime soda down the side of the bowl to retain carbonation. Then, stir gently to combine.

4. Garnish and serve. If using garnishes, add them at this time. Then, serve the sherbet immediately. Enjoy!

Tips for the Best Sherbet Punch

Making sherbet punch is super simple. And the process is even easier with these tips:

  • Chill everything! Ensure the pineapple juice and lemon-lime soda are well chilled. Also, keep the sherbet mostly frozen. It helps to chill the bowl you plan to use, too.
  • Be precise. The big mistake many people make with this recipe is just dumping the sherbet into the bowl all at once. Instead, use an ice cream scoop to form balls that float in the punch. They’ll melt more slowly and look nicer.
  • Be careful! When pouring the soda, do so slowly and carefully. Pour it gently down the side of the punch bowl to keep it as carbonated and fizzy as possible.
  • Try fun variations. Try different sherbet flavors (orange, lime, or raspberry), or use ginger ale instead of lemon-lime soda. Experiment with different juices, too. If you’re hosting an adults-only party, you can also add your favorite alcohol. Rum and Champagne pair nicely with the flavors.
