Ingredients
- Tart Cherry Juice: The star of the show! It provides a perfect balance of sweet and tart flavors. Plus, it delivers that stunning ruby color. Choose 100% pure juice for the best results.
- Simple Syrup: This liquid sweetener blends seamlessly into cold drinks, ensuring no grainy texture. It’s the key to achieving the perfect sweetness level.
- Vanilla Extract: Adds warmth and depth to the drink. It transforms it from a basic fruit juice into a sophisticated mocktail. Pure vanilla extract makes a noticeable difference.
- Lime Juice: It brightens all the other flavors and adds a crucial acidic note. It makes the mocktail more complex and very refreshing.
- Orange Juice: It provides natural sweetness and subtle citrus notes. It complements the cherry juice without overpowering it.
- Club Soda: Creates the signature fizz and lightens the drink’s texture. The bubbles also help carry the aroma of vanilla and fruit to your nose.
- Ice: It's essential for both mixing and serving. It chills the drink perfectly.
- Fresh Cherries: They add an elegant touch and give guests a hint of what’s to come.
How to Make This Cherry Vanilla Fizz
Like most mocktail recipes, this one is a breeze to make. Just follow these simple steps.
1. Add the ice. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. If desired, fill two glasses with ice, as well. (Or you can do this immediately after mixing the drink.)
2. Shake. Combine the cherry juice, simple syrup, vanilla, lime, and orange juices in the shaker. Shake well for 20 to 30 seconds.
3. Strain. Strain the mixture equally into the two ice-filled glasses.
4. Top and serve. Top each glass with a half cup of club soda and garnish with fresh cherries and mint. Sip and enjoy!

Tips for the Best Cherry Vanilla Fizz
These tips will help ensure you make the crispest, most flavorful cherry vanilla fizz.
- Keep things chilly. Pop the glasses in the freezer for 10-15 minutes, it’ll keep your drink at the optimal serving temperature longer. You can also pre-chill the ingredients, except for the club soda.
- Fresh is best. Use fresh-squeezed juice. This may not be possible for the cherry juice. (Unless you have a juicer, blender, or food processor.) But you can easily use fresh lime and orange juices. Freshly squeezed will give you the brightest and best flavor.
- Ditch the fake stuff. Select high-quality, 100% tart cherry juice rather than artificially flavored options. (If you don’t make your own.) Also, use pure vanilla extract instead of imitation.
- Go the homemade route. Make your own simple syrup. You can typically buy it anywhere spirits are sold. But it’ll taste so much better if you make it yourself. You can also infuse it with a vanilla bean for extra flavor. Adjust the amount to suit your tastes when adding it to the drink.
- Be gentle. Add the club soda last. Also, pour it slowly down the side of the glass to maintain fizz. Don’t stir.
- Pat the cherries dry. If you add them as a garnish without doing so, you risk color bleeding.

Variations
You can also tweak the recipe to suit your tastes. Use more or less of any ingredient, or try one of these variations.
- Add some citrus. Cherries are great, but a lime twist is another nice touch. It looks lovely and adds an extra burst of citrusy goodness.
- Experiment with herbs. Muddle in a sprig or two of mint for a cool, fresh flavor. Try basil or rosemary for different smells.
- Ditch the vanilla. If you prefer to focus on the fruit, don’t add the vanilla. It’ll be less sweet and complex and much fruitier.
- Substitute sparkling water. Personally, I think club soda works best. But sparkling water will suffice in a pinch. You can even experiment with flavored varieties.
- Make it boozy. For an adults-only version, add 2 ounces of gin, vodka, or rum to the shaker with the other ingredients.
