20 Best Appetizers with Apples

There’s nothing dull about these starters, at all! They’re more than just your average treats.

Have you ever heard of apples on pizza? How about apple nachos?

Get ready to enjoy those recipes and more on this list. Enjoy!

1. Caramel Apple Dip

This first recipe doesn’t contain apples, per se, but it’s certainly the perfect dip for them. Think of it as deconstructed caramel apple, if you will.

It’s a no-bake, no-cook mix of softened cream cheese, sugar, and caramel sauce with crunchy toffee bits on top.

Dunk those apple slices into this delectable dip, and it’ll immediately bring you back to your favorite country fair.

2. Apple Pecan Baked Brie

Today, on images you can smell: melt-in-your-mouth brie cheese topped with apples, pecans, and cranberries with a brown sugar and cinnamon glaze.

Whether you spread it on crackers or eat it with a spoon, it won’t disappoint. The combination of sweet and savory truly hits the spot.

Also, can we just take a moment to appreciate just how gorgeous this appetizer is? It’s almost too pretty to eat!

3. Spicy Apple Salsa

Salsa is usually made with tomatoes, but this fruity version consists of apples.

It also has jalapenos, onions, and Anaheim chilis to give the sweet fruit a spicy complement. Chopped walnuts also provide some crunch.

Just like any regular salsa, use this apple twist as a burrito or taco filling. Or, top it on your favorite grilled meat and fish dishes.

4. Cheesy Apple Bites

Apples and cheese are a match made in heaven. Case in point: these cheesy apple bites.

Here’s how it goes: apple slices are smeared with either blue or whipped cream cheese (or a mix of both) and sprinkled with chives, walnuts, celery, and pomegranate seeds.

That’s already mind-blowing enough as it is, but if you care to make it more extra, finish them off with a drizzle of honey and a sprinkle of fresh thyme.

Chicken Waldorf Salad

5. Chicken Waldorf Salad

I’m not a big salad person, but I’m a sucker for the Waldorf salad.

How can anyone not be? It’s creamy, refreshing, and crunchy on so many levels.

Apples, chicken, grapes, walnuts, raisins, and celery are tossed in a dressing of yogurt, mayo, orange juice, and honey. Need I say more?

6. Apple Pie Bites

Apple pies are great, but there’s just something incredibly adorable about these bite-sized versions.

With flaky phyllo cups at the bottom, cinnamon apples in the middle, and bourbon-kissed whipped cream and salted caramel on top, these bites may be small, but they’re definitely big on flavor.

They’re so good, one bite will get you hooked!

7. Apple and Honey Goat Cheese Appetizer

If only the Evil Queen knew how to make this appetizer, it wouldn’t have taken her forever to enchant Snow White.

Seriously, these apple bites are legendary! They’re so addictive, it’s like they’re tainted with a love potion or something.

But there’s no magic involved in making this starter at all – just some good-old apples, goat cheese, pecans, and honey.

8. Apple Cheddar Kabobs

How can something so delectable be so simple? These kabobs are a must-have at your next party.

They couldn’t be easier to make. Just thread cubes of apples and cheddar cheese into a skewer.

But man, the flavor combination will truly knock your socks off.

Sure, you can easily serve the ingredients in a bowl and call it a day, but where’s the fun in that? The skewers give these appetizers that extra appeal.

9. Apple Pita Bites

Toasted mini-pitas are topped with herb cream cheese, apple slices, gorgonzola, pecans, bacon, and drizzled with honey. Now, this is what I call the perfect bite.

The sweet and crunchy apples, creamy and salty cheeses, crunchy pecans, smoky bacon, and goopy honey together create the most beautiful harmony of flavors.

I can snack on these all day.

10. Apple Nachos

This dessert tastes nothing like classic nachos, but it’s equally delicious.

Apple slices are drizzled with melted peanut butter and chocolate and topped with chocolate chips, to boot.

Oh, apple nachos! Where have you been all my life? This dessert is definitely a game-changer.

It’s delicious and decadent, but secretly healthy. The fact that it’s a breeze to make is the cherry on top.

11. Apple Cinnamon Bacon Bites

Apple slices are wrapped in bacon, sprinkled with cinnamon sugar, and baked to perfection. Whoever came up with this idea deserves an award.

The bacon may cancel out the health benefits of apples, but does it matter?

This appetizer will be the first to disappear, so I suggest you at least triple the recipe.

12. Apple Cheddar Pizza

Sweet pizza, anyone? If you enjoy pineapples on your pizza, then I’m pretty sure you’ll enjoy this fun twist.

The thought of apples on pizza may seem strange, but don’t knock it until you try it. Trust me, this recipe is a keeper.

Apple Chips

13. Apple Chips

If you’re craving the crunchiness of potato chips but trying to cut down on fat, apple chips are the way to go.

Thin apple slices are sprinkled with ground cinnamon and salt and are then air fried to perfection.

This snack is as crispy and crunchy as can be, with a sweet and salty flavor to boot.

Because you’ll use the air fryer, these chips don’t contain any oil at all. So feel free to have that second serving – you know you want to.

14. Apple Cheddar Loaf

Pair your morning coffee or afternoon tea with this delectable apple cheddar loaf!

With an undeniable apple flavor, this loaf is what autumn dreams are made of.

You’ll also love how the cheddar provides a subtle salty contrast to the sweet loaf. It’s like eating an apple pie, only in bread form.

And since it’s a quick bread recipe, it’s also super quick and easy to make.

15. Smoked Gouda and Apple Crostini

Say hello to this fancy appetizer that’ll surely impress your guests.

All it takes is to top bite-sized baguettes with smoked gouda and apple and bake them to perfection.

The honey is optional, but it does make a huge difference.

The sweet, salty, and crunchy combo makes these bites super addictive. This easy-peasy recipe will make your party a guaranteed hit.

16. Brie and Balsamic Prosciutto Wrapped Apples

Wrapping food in bacon is great, but using prosciutto instead is next level. These brie and balsamic prosciutto-wrapped apples are the stuff of legends.

To say these appetizers are scrumptious is an understatement.

Among the brie, the prosciutto, and the sweet balsamic glaze, it’s hard to decide which one to love the most. The good thing is, with this starter, you won’t have to.

17. Apple Chutney Bruschetta

This sweet and sour apple chutney bruschetta will be your new favorite.

The combination of brown sugar, dried fruit, apples, and lemon juice gives the chutney such a unique and wonderful flavor.

And if you think chutney requires some cooking expertise, think again. It’s surprisingly easy to make!

Top toasted bread with goat cheese and this apple chutney, and you’re golden.

18. Caramel Apple Charcuterie Board

This sweet charcuterie board is complete with apple slices, caramel corn, pretzels, cheese, crackers, and a caramel dip.

Think of it as the popular country fair snack, but dismantled and spread out on a charcuterie board.

19. Apple Sandwich

Craving a peanut butter sandwich but don’t have bread? Apples will perfectly do the trick!

  1. Hi Kim, I have looked three times but I can’t find the recipe for the appetizer at the top and bottom, the one with the pecan, cranberry sauce, rosemary and apple.

    • Hi Jo! They’re apple and brie crostini! Here’s the recipe:

      10 ounces brie, sliced
      1/2 baguette
      1 large apple, thinly slice
      1/4 cup cranberry sauce
      12-16 whole pecans
      rosemary, for garnish

      1. Cut the baguette into 12-16 slices and toast until lightly golden on both sides
      2. Place a slice of brie onto each piece of bread and broil until melted
      3. Top with apple slices, a dollop of cranberry sauce, a pecan, and rosemary
      4. Serve hot and enjoy!

      Hope you like them!
