Of course, if you have fresh, feel free to use them! But in that case, I’d use frozen bananas so you still get the right texture.

  • Frozen Strawberries – Try to chop larger chunks in half for easier blending.
  • Banana – You can use fresh or frozen bananas. The latter will make this extra thick – like a strawberry and banana milkshake.
  • Milk – Whole milk makes this rich and creamy. But you can use whatever you like/prefer, including dairy-free.
  • Yogurt – Plain Greek yogurt is creamy and full of good-for-your-gut probiotics. But regular yogurt works, too. Just be sure it’s unflavored or it’ll affect the taste of the finished smoothie.

2. Add the milk and yogurt to the blender first. Then add the frozen strawberries, banana, and vanilla and blend until creamy.

  • Make it dairy-free. Use your favorite dairy-free milk and yogurt, such as full-fat coconut milk and coconut milk yogurt. If you don’t want that nutty taste, use soy, rice, or oat milk. Just keep in mind the smoothie won’t be as rich and creamy.
  • Add protein powder. Need a high-protein smoothie to bulk up? Add a scoop of vanilla or strawberry protein powder.
  • How about some extra fruit? Make it a fruity fiesta with more berries, pineapples, or mangoes. Fresh or frozen work well.
  • Add some seeds. Chia seeds, flax, and hemp seeds add so much good nutrition. Plus, they make the texture really fun!
