You’ll use banana flour in place of all-purpose to create a batch of dense and fudgy brownies you’ll want to drown in.

The recipe actually uses a blend of both banana flour and almond flour for a unique nutty flavor that pairs perfectly with walnuts.

Throw in some dark chocolate chunks, and watch as these babies vanish.

4. Banana Flour Chocolate Chip Cake

Yes, you can even use banana flour in cakes!

However, since it absorbs a lot of liquid during the baking process, you’ll need the same amount of apple sauce to help keep things moist.

Along with the banana and apple, you’ll add plenty of chocolatey goodness with a heaping portion of mini chocolate chips.

Did I mention this recipe is vegan? That’s right, so you won’t need any eggs.

The finished product is light, packed with flavors, and impossibly moist and delicious.

This recipe is excellent if you want to make a cake that’s easy on the calories with added nutrition.

5. Chocolate Chip Banana Blondies

Classic chocolate chip blondies capture everything you love about thick and chewy cookies.

And this version is extra special because it’s free from wheat and dairy.

Still, they’re light and fluffy with a delicate crumb that’s hard to resist. You can use almond flour for a nutty flavor or banana flour for added sweetness.

Coconut sugar and almond milk keep this recipe vegan while also sneaking in a hint of added flavors.

Plus, these are a breeze to make. Preparing the batter takes around 10 minutes, and the tray only needs 35 minutes in the oven.

Let them cool if you can. Otherwise, grab a fork and dig in!

6. Banana Flour Chocolate Chip Cookies

Are you on the hunt for chocolate chip cookies that are addictively sweet but still healthy?

These banana flour chocolate chip cookies are free of gluten and dairy, and they use very little added sugar.

They are crisp and a little crunchy – perfect for dunking in a glass of cold almond milk!

The best part? They’re ready in only 20 minutes (10 minutes to mix and 10 minutes in the oven).

When they come out, they’re insanely chocolatey and ideal for a bit of late-night snacking.

7. Very Berry Resistant Starch Smoothie

It’s not always easy to achieve a perfectly thick smoothie – unless you have a high-powered (and high-priced) blender.

But this berry smoothie earns its ice cream-like thickness from the banana flour. It acts like a thickening agent, making the finish insanely rich and filling.

Featuring blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries, it’s full of goodness, bright colors, and plenty of natural sweetness.

Plus, you can play around with the flavors and add things that suit your tastebuds, like matcha powder, vanilla yogurt, or a handful of spinach.

8. Banana Muffins (AIP/Paleo)

Quick, tasty, and good for your gut, these muffins are a dream come true.

They’re also gluten- and dairy-free and perfect for those in AIP or Paleo diets.

With zero processed sugar, they get their subtle sweetness from maple syrup, banana flour, and mashed bananas.

For the best flavor, ensure the bananas are super ripe. They should be brown and spotty!

9. Healthy Beetroot Brownies

Adding beetroot to brownies sounds strange, but it’s worth it once you get a taste of these!

Cooked beets and banana flour transform these brownies into mouth-watering red velvet delights that are soft, chewy, and insanely delicious.

Did I mention they’re also healthy?

Maple syrup adds a pop of flavor, and you’ll get sweetness from the banana flour.

That said, if you feel they aren’t sweet enough, drizzle them with a cream cheese glaze infused with maple syrup and vanilla extract. Yum!

10. Happy Belly Green Banana Flour Brownie Bites

Healthy brownies bites that don’t need baking? Sign me up!

These are as easy as mixing the ingredients in a bowl, rolling it into balls, and devouring them in one go.

Okay, maybe not one go. Try to spread them out over a few hours!

They’re nutty and sweet from the chopped pecans and maple syrup. There’s also a hint of chocolatey goodness from vegan dark chocolate chips.

If you have an afternoon sweet tooth but want to keep calories low and nutrition high, these brownie bites are worth a try!

  1. I made the banana flour chocolate chip cake last night. Five stars! This was my first time working with banana flour. It seems like it cooks at a lower temperature and for a shorter time than other flours. Question: Can I substitute wheat flour for banana flour one-to-one in cake recipes? I need to make a birthday cake next week.

    • Hi, Janis!

So, banana flour is more absorbent and has a higher starch content compared to wheat flour. So, a 1:1 ratio probably won’t work. Typically, you’ll need to use less banana flour when substituting for wheat flour.

Generally speaking, you’ll use 3/4 cup of banana flour for every 1 cup of wheat flour.

Additionally, due to banana flour’s higher absorbency, you may need to adjust the amount of liquid in your recipe when substituting wheat flour with banana flour.

Here are some wheat flour cake recipes if you’d rather use one of those for your birthday cake. πŸ™‚
