These crack chicken sliders are just as addictive as they sound!
Juicy chicken gets smothered in zesty ranch, cheddar, and cream cheese with bacon. It’s served up on none other than a sweet and soft Hawaiian roll.
They’re perfect for parties, game days, or as an easy family snack!
Easy Crack Chicken Sliders on Hawaiian Rolls
Crack chicken sliders are not your typical run-of-the-mill game-day appetizers. Oh no, my friends, they’re so much more than that.
The garlicky butter-brushed rolls ooze with shredded chicken drenched in a creamy, cheesy ranch-seasoned mixture.
And yes, they’re loaded with bacon, too!
They’re addictively delicious, easy to make, and perfect for any gathering. Just assemble, bake, and devour!
Ingredients
Crack chicken sliders are full of savory, creamy, cheesy, and meaty ingredients. Together, they create an irresistible flavor combo!
Here’s what you need for this recipe:
- Shredded Chicken – I use leftover chicken breasts to save time. But you can cook them from scratch. Just be sure to use skinless, boneless chicken breast and shred it.
- Cream Cheese – For that creamy, gooey goodness! Soften the cream cheese for easier mixing.
- Cheddar Cheese – Mild, medium, or sharp all taste great. Just be sure to use freshly grated cheddar for optimum melting.
- Bacon – These sliders just aren’t the same without the bacon! Use cooked, crumbled bacon for a little bit in every bite.
- Green Onions – For a burst of freshness to break up the richness.
- Dry Ranch Dressing Mix – For all the zesty flavor! It’s important to use one packet of dry ranch dressing mix and not the bottled stuff. Regular ranch dressing is too runny.
- Chicken Broth – For thinning the cheesy ranch mixture and adding more flavor.
- Salt and Pepper – Add as much or as little as you need.
- Hawaiian Rolls – A classic slider favorite! They’re soft and sweet, perfect for the savory filling. Plus, they make assembly easy.
- Butter – For brushing the rolls. It makes them extra yummy and gives them that golden finish.
- Garlic – Add it to the butter for an even more addicting flavor.
How to Make Crack Chicken Sliders
Like these yummy pepperoni pizza sliders, this recipe is dangerously easy. You can have them ready to serve a crowd in only 30 minutes.
Just follow these steps:
1. Make the chicken filling. Mix the shredded chicken, cream cheese, 1/4 cup cheddar cheese, bacon, green onions, ranch dressing mix, and chicken broth.
2. Season. Add salt and pepper to taste.
3. Prep the rolls. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half. Place the bottom halves in a baking dish.
4. Assemble. Spread the chicken mixture over the bottom half of the roll. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar on top. Cover with the top half of the roll.
5. Butter the rolls. Combine the melted butter and garlic powder in a bowl. Brush the tops of the roll with the butter mixture.
6. Bake. Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes and serve warm.
Recipe Tips & Variations
For the best crack chicken sliders, follow these tips and variations:
- Take a shortcut! Use leftover or rotisserie chicken. These sliders are a great way to use up leftover or rotisserie chicken. It cuts down the prep time and still tastes delicious.
- Fire up the slow cooker. For more hands-off cooking, cook the chicken in the slow cooker. Cook the chicken with the cream cheese and ranch dressing on high for 4 hours.
- Add more crunch. Want to add some crispy topping? Before baking, sprinkle the sliders with panko breadcrumbs for a delightful crunch.
- Make ‘em spicy. For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the chicken mixture. You could also add dashes of your favorite hot sauce.
- Dip them to perfection. For more flavor, serve with a side of your favorite dipping sauces. Ranch dressing, BBQ sauce, or honey mustard are some ideas.
How to Store
These sliders are so addicting, I doubt there will be any leftovers! If there are, you can store them for later. Just note the rolls can get soggy.
Also, I don’t recommend freezing as the cream cheese mixture won’t defrost well.
To Store: Place leftover sliders in an air-tight container. Refrigerate for up to 3 days.
To Reheat: For the best texture, reheat them in the oven until warm. You can also reheat individual sliders in the microwave.
What to Serve with Crack Chicken Sliders
Serving a crowd? Make it a spread by adding some sides to your sliders. Crunchy chips, crispy fries, and creamy coleslaws are some of my favorites.
For a little inspiration, here are some more perfect pairings:
- Oven-Baked Potato Wedges
- French Fries
- Air Fryer Potato Chips
- Sweet Coleslaw
- Pineapple Coleslaw
- Dill Pickle Pasta Salad
